I have been a volunteer for Marine Mammal Conservancy since 2004

Broward Ferret
Rescue
|
My daughter & I share our home
with five ferrets: Robyn, Dude, Nona, Bandit & Willie. I also write The
Ferret Files blog, so this small shelter is one that we support with
great pleasure.
"The Broward Ferret Rescue and
Referral exists to rescue abandoned and surrendered ferrets where they
may be placed in loving forever homes while educating the communities on
their humane needs. The Broward Ferret Rescue was founded in 2000 by
Karen Riley and Dona Michaels. Based out of their homes, it remains a
small no kill ferret shelter. In 2004, Broward Ferret Rescue became a
501c3 non-profit organization." |
Habitat
for Humanity |
Our office participated in Habitat for Humanity's
Blitz Build again this year. This is the fifth year I
have helped build houses with my fellow Coldwell Banker agents and Habitat for Humanity.
Blitz Build is an accelerated
construction event where 2,000 people will complete ten homes over the
course of two weeks. Volunteers, homeowners, and sponsors work together
to build not only houses, but also friendships and a better future for
homeowner families and the Miami-Dade community. Blitz Build 2010
took place in Shrader's Haven, a 22-lot community located at 15372 SW
287 St. in South Dade. |

The
Victory Lap: "You came. You saw. They
promised. The 2008 Promise To Remember Me has officially wrapped up as
JDRF’s most successful to date, with an incredible 374 personal
meetings taking place in congressional districts across the nation.
Kudos to you, JDRF advocates, for making this program a huge success."
"The Promise Campaign is a
coordinated effort to schedule and complete as many meetings as possible
between representatives and senators and their constituents in their
local districts. In addition to building relationships with federal
lawmakers, it allows JDRF to continue the momentum and messaging
established through our Children's Congress event." |

In addition to my time, a percentage of every
